science I personally struggled with a porn addiction in my 20s it’s been out of my life for a little over three years and that’s really what this channel is all about sharing what I know what I’ve learned uh with this community let’s get into [Music] it okay so blue balls what a great name for this it’s one of those things that actually not a lot of people talk about certainly no one really warns you about it and you’re finally making some great progress on your noof fap Journey you’re feeling good you just hit that two we Mark the 2 and 1/2 week Mark and all of a sudden you’re on the floor wondering if this is the end and spoiler alert it’s not the end but I get it it’s uncomfortable it’s frustrating and of course it’s just another obstacle for you to face on this noof fap Journey which is already very overwhelming around the twoe mark and look I’ve been there on my noof fap journey I remember when I was finally making a lot of great progress and I would hit that two week Mark and then I just remember thinking you know is this my life now am I going to have to deal with this pain every single day with zero warning you know how am I going to endure this all the time but let’s break this down exactly what blue balls is and how we could handle it like a pro on our nofap journey okay let’s let’s clear the air here what even is blue balls well let me tell you what it’s not it’s not some mythical punishment for saying no to lust it’s not some Demon that has you by the balls and is trying to lure you back into watching pornography it’s just a buildup of blood flow in a certain area of your body okay and if you could guess yes the testic area there’s a buildup because there hasn’t been a release your body’s going well this is weird I’m used to getting some action right about now why are we doing this to ourselves but here’s the thing it’s temporary your body is really smart and it figures out a way how to balance things out on its own it adapts it’s not dangerous it’s not permanent you’re not breaking down and it’s not a demon trying to lure you back okay it’s just part of the process of your body rewiring itself I’ll never forget my first experience with blue balls on my nofap journey and uh it’s a bit embarrassing but I’m going to share it with you guys anyway because we’re all friends here and uh I remember I was making great progress I was feeling so good I finally made it to this like two and a half week Mark I forget how many days it was and it just hit me out of nowhere it sucked and for some reason at the time I didn’t really like Google anything I just decided to try to keep myself distracted but not in the best way I was like I’m going to go grocery shopping and what ensued was just me kind of like walking around the grocery store walking like a penguin and just trying not to make eye contact with anyone uh looking back it probably just looked like I was severely constipated or that there was something wrong with me but uh and there was there was something wrong with me I had blue balls but yeah looking like a penguin while you’re trying to uh pick up avocados was was not a great look one of the things I learned from that personal experiences that freaking out and focusing so much on it made things much worse than it had to be the more I focused on that discomfort the more it grew the more I brought it into the present moment and the more it stretched out the time that I was feeling uncomfortable to where it seemed like it was unbearable it’s like when you have a headache guys and you’re like oh this headache’s terrible and you keep focusing on it and focusing on it and then that’s the only thing in your world that exists at that moment is you have this terrible headache and it’s never going to go away but it does right suddenly when you distract yourself it’s not so [Music] bad okay let’s talk about Solutions here’s what worked for me and plenty of others that I’ve helped on their Journey first thing you could do is move your body going for a light walk or doing some light exercise and stretching definitely will help it kind of just moves around this blood flow allows it to circulate instead of being concentrated into one part of your body and also it just gives you something else to focus on the second thing you could do is cold showers I know this is like your typical cliche advice in the nofap community but there’s a reason why this is recommended all the time especially by me it works they really do help in so many areas of life especially when you have blue balls this was actually my go-to the cold will shock your system and reduce the discomfort it’s going to wake you up and when you step out out of that cold shower you feel like a freaking King if you’ve never experimented with cold showers definitely give this a shot if you’re experiencing blue balls it is a game Cher third thing you could do is to distract your mind distractions help in so many areas of our life especially when we’re dealing with urges and Temptations I always talk about redirecting your thoughts don’t fight them redirect them same thing with blue balls don’t fight the blue balls okay redirect it distract yourself dive into a hobby call a friend watch something that makes you laugh anything to distract your mind from what’s currently going on in your body anything that pulls your focus away from the sensation of what’s going on is going to help fourth thing that you could do is breathe it out this is going to help some of you and for others sounds like the last thing that you want to do but sometimes all you need to do is just sit still and breathe deep intentional breathing is going to help your mind relax and your body reset last thing that you need to do is just remember the big picture this discomfort that you’re feeling is temporary keep your eye on the big prize do not allow this discomfort to pull you back into Old Habits do not use this as an excuse to be like oh I need a release so I’m going to go watch porn blue balls is temporary right but the growth that you are working towards is long lasting keep your eyes on the prize and remember the big picture here the one thing that I realize with blue balls is it’s not just about physical discomfort I know it can seem like that in the moment but this is really just a reminder that you’re changing it was a reminder that I’m changing I was stepping out of old habits and growing into something better so if you’re experiencing the same thing right now so are you yeah it’s uncomfortable and yeah I’ve been there but growth is always uncomfortable pick one person out that hasn’t achieved the things that you want and ask them if it’s been easy it hasn’t been we already know the answer anytime you’re stepping outside of your comfort zone it’s that painful awkward frustrating step right but we know what’s on the other side of it growth it’s always worth it every time you step through that pain and overcome another obstacle in your life you always look back and go man there’s really so much more that I could do with my life every single hurdle that you overcome reminds you of who you really are and what you can achieve in this world and I know that sometimes sounds cheesy and motivational but it’s true just look around if there’s people that you admire and look up to and and and hopefully it’s your future self that you’re envisioning they don’t succumb to Blue Ball and just say hey I’m going to go back to my old habits they don’t give up when the going gets tough because it’s going to get tough if they fall they get back up they learn from it and they keep moving forward that’s what the greatest people do the other side of getting through this discomfort that’s where the magic happens so keep that in mind so if you’re dealing with blue balls right now know that you are not dealing with this alone everyone in the NOAB Community has dealt with this on their journey of
